My name is JM Mooney-Throughout my career I have been finding new ways to use a camera in order to translate and capture the emotions I’m experiencing. I have spent a large part of my career working within the structure of shooting commercials and narrative film and television, tasked with telling stories. I see the camera as a bridge- an emotional connection to the world around me that can preserve moments as memories. I have been given many opportunities to help curate and document beautiful imagery.

These experiences have all driven me to an understanding of how important it is to remain present while I work. I believe that presence allows me to experience the moments around me and creates an organic element that can add depth to my imagery.

There is a significant connection between the stories in our own lives and those we find in the movies we watch. I’ve found my experience creating these stories has given me a unique perspective that can elevate the moments I encounter. My mind is constantly finding a way to construct a story in the world around me. Whether I am designing stories for a brand or building a world within a narrative, I am always searching or how to connect and engage with its audience.
